At the end of the day we may find ourselves asking these very questions before we close our eyes and drift off in slumber. The questions may come at various stages of our lives. Often times they may be the result of an event that has taken place causing us to "re think" our purpose, our focus, our desires and goals. Yet others may find that its finally time to focus on what truly matters and seek a different path than the one we have been walking.
Whether it be the right career for what us, or the perfect relationship...the one desire to meet that drives an eternal happiness unlike any other that could never be matched... Those desires may last us a lifetime.... others may burn for a season, a specific chapter in our lives. Whatever it may be, we all strive for it. We seek a means to occupy that emptiness and relieve us of our burdens... It may be through a higher power, it may be through a love so deep we dont even know how to react when it does hit us... Often times we feel undeserving of what we have received when truly it is what we had been seeking all along. If this has happened to you did you find yourself saying... "This couldn't possibly be for me..."
How do we manage it.... How do we accept it... All answers, that given the proper time and focus we will find, we will process, and we will accept. Think about some of the events that have taken place in your life thus far... Were you looking for them or even wanting them when they happened? And how did you manage them when you did realize there is no turning back now? Did you cash in the chips and run or did you stay and see it through.. Maybe you accepted it for the fact that it had been placed in front of you for a reason and you took the time to make the most out of it. How did you know, what was it that told you this was meant to be...?
Both physical and spiritual relationships seem to happen that very way. We yearn to find that one to fill the void in our heart. To accept us for all of our flaws and shortcomings... That one to share a bond, a love so strong that even the toughest storms along the way can be weathered out. We can look back into our lives and see what has taken course... what events and relationships we once thought were failures now are recognized as actually being teaching points in our journey to prepare us for that one we will all day find. And when that relationship finally arrives... grasp its hand and begin the journey together...For you will know you have finally met that one you have longed to meet, to have, and to hold.
