When the system falls short, try taking a new step

Right now we are all faced with changes in our lives. We are currently not feeling the guarantee of a good, prosperous life with all that is being said about the current state of the economy. We are have different opinions on how we can "fix the world" and what we need to do with what we have left. Maybe it is finding new ways to save money, or entertain ourselves and our family. Before we all lavished in fancy trips to the theater, professional sporting events, weekend trips to another country. Maybe this is the time we slow down and focus on ourselves. Use this down time to better ourselves, read a book, catch up on current events, visit family, write a letter to a friend or family member we have not spoken to in months. Email will not always be able to reach out to everyone.

There are so many tools that are available to us: The local library, free community events on making budgets, saving money, and how to be a better person. Now will be the time to turn your struggles to Christ and find your relationship with Him that you walked away from some time ago. Several churches are giving great messages today on how to live in troubled times, fear, and God's focus for us. A few are Clear Creek Community Church or Mars Hill Church to name a few starters. Messages can be downloaded to your Ipod, listened to online via a stream. Take them with you where ever you go and instead of a few favorite songs you have listened to a few hundred time take one time to listen to a few words of from God in these messages. With that I will leave you this: Revelations 21:4 says "He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away."

Organization is painful

I have always considered myself a pretty organized buy. Now I am in that stage of life where organization is being taken to the next level. With the arrival of my daughter you have to think of the future- her education, her life needs, etc. So I have been scanning the internet looking for examples of things for completing my advanced healthcare directive, my living will, working on my life insurance, making sure my retirement is in order, etc.... It seems like getting organized is much harder than what it seems. I know those I have chosen to make these decisions for me will protect my dignity, will look after my needs and wants. I just want to make those decisions as easy for them as I can. I have never been in the "decision making seat" but have been in healthcare and have had past experiences with those who have and those professionals whose whole focus is just that.... managing advanced directives, etc.

It is amazing to me the amount of data one can include in what you would begin to think was a simple document to create. I guess I have many prayers and much reading to do before I sign on the dotted line.

Deaper than the words

Life can be compared to a rainbow

The many different hues provide a medium for the world that surrounds us.

We each have our favorites… The bright reds, pinks, and purples to the blues, the greens, and even the hidden blacks.

Our existence is what we make of it. Sometimes the louder we are the more visible we are. The softer we are the more we tend to blend in with the others.

But yet in the end it is all of us together that makes the whole picture beautiful.

It is in the end together that we complete the entire ensemble.

Individuality is a beautiful thing however too much can lead us to standing at the crossroads alone.

Yes, we see the colors tend to be found within their own hue, but it takes all of us to form the All.

It takes all of us to make such a display that captivates us when we see the final presentation. It is a simplistic peace of grammar used to be formal and informal just as we were taught.

The next time you say goodbye, think about its meaning, the use behind it, and simply…
How did you say goodbye.
